Fourteen states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have regulation and licensing of Naturopathic medicine. All countries and states that license naturopathic medicine have requirements to receive licensing. Each jurisdiction is different, but all require that the physician graduate from a doctorate level program from a college. Licensing protects the public by insuring that physicians claiming credentials actually have training.
